TITRE DE THESE :
A multi-biomarker approach to assess the effects of Perfluoroalkylated Contaminants and Microplastics on Aquatic and Terrestrial organisms in the context of One Health

SUJET DE THESE :
Environmental contamination by perfluoroalkyl compounds (such as PFOA) and polyethylene (PE) microplastics has increased due to urbanization, affecting aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. Emerging contaminants (ECs) from anthropogenic and natural sources pose risks to human and environmental health, mainly through wastewater and sewage sludge. This study will investigate the effects of PFOA, PE, and their combination on aquatic organisms, including Biomphalaria glabrata (intermediate host of Schistosoma mansoni), analyzing the parasite’s virulence, as well as on Parhyale hawaensis and the terrestrial organism Eisenia andrei.
